Poker PR and Pro Management Executive – Malta
Position Purpose:
Support the management of the team of poker professionals and leverage their sponsorship for the purpose of brand development, player acquisition and retention.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Manage the schedule of all sponsored poker professionals, supporting all logistics and reconciling all activity against contractual obligations;
• Organize and potentially personally provide support to the players at live events;
• Develop and manage PR opportunities for the whole pro team, with the support of the poker PR team. In particular ensure that the pros always have the appropriate branding material at events;
• Generate all the necessary marketing material to support and leverage the pros sponsorship – this includes in particular creating content in any format (online articles, videos, etc…)
• Support the poker promotions team, from providing input from the pros to helping with promotional copy requirements;
• Support the recruitment of additional team members, including contract negotiation
• Maintain all online assets related to the pros: their own blogs, the pro section on the website, etc… with the support of the web team
• Work with country and regional managers to leverage pros in local events.
Key Working Relationships:
• The poker pro assistant reports to the Room activity Manager and will work closely with the poker promotions team and the poker website team;
• He/ she will also need to work in close collaboration with the poker PR manager
• He/she will also work very closely with all country managers, ensuring global leverage of the pro team;
• Finally, he/she will have regular contacts with the travel and events team for all logistical requirements
Person Specification
You will suit the role if you are:
• Passionate about poker: you know who’s hot and who’s not, you love spending your time with poker players, you understand their requirements;
• Ideally you have experience reporting from live poker events, doing player interviews, both in writing and videos; or maintaining a poker blog or other website. At the very least, you have excellent copy skills;
• You understand and can leverage online marketing tools. Blogging, twittering and social networks are second nature to you;
• Your organization skills are second to none; you will be comfortable juggling conflicting requirements and schedules whilst keeping to budget;
• You possess strong influencing and negotiation skills;
• You will have excellent interpersonal and social skills;
• You like to travel regularly;
• And finally, you have a proactive nature and the desire to succeed in a fast paced business environment.
Specialties:
• Excellent copy skills, in particular suited for online publishing.
• Knowledge of video capture, editing and online publishing
• Basic knowledge of HTML/ web publishing
• Higher education preferred.
• Foreign languages would be a Plus.
