Business Development Manager, Poker Tours & Events – UK

A market leader in both online and live tournament poker is looking to develop new business opportunities for our live poker tours and events. An immediate need exists for a self starting, motivated individual to begin working on known opportunities, and thinking of new ones. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing strategic relationships, assisting in the advancement of strategic growth objectives, negotiating sponsorship agreements, and evaluating new prospects. This position will be based in our client’s London office.

Key Job Responsibilities:
• Identify, evaluate and prioritize potential live event, media, sponsorship and miscellaneous business opportunities within local, regional and global spheres for increasing player experience and/or realizing new revenue streams
• Create innovative new opportunities
• Develop business cases and appropriate sales material to communicate value of opportunities both internally and to prospective partners
• Create prioritized lists of third-party companies ideally-suited to partnerships or sponsorships
• Identify and create innovative and competitively sustainable project business models
• Outline the opportunity set and source new partners or vendors for the project
• Handle all contract negotiations
• Handle overall project management responsibilities and drive projects towards launch
• In concert with marketing account manage, develop and grow commercial partnerships
• Analyze and review ideas brought forth by outside entities

Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have progressive operations or marketing experience, extensive business development background across disparate geographic and cultural lines, strong negotiating acumen, excellent project management skills and (ideally, though not mandatory) a keen knowledge of the online and offline poker market. You should possess a strong analytical mind and ability to synthesize large amounts of data into a cohesive plan; strong quantitative and financial modelling skills; and an ability to clearly articulate both business and strategic rationale of potential partnerships and business growth initiatives. You must be able to manage executive interactions with potential partners and targets. You must also be able to navigate various cross functional processes and work well with other internal constituents.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years experience in one of: Live Poker or Casino Management; Sports Sponsorship; Advertising; Entertainment; or another area involving complex problem solving and sophisticated relationship management. Experience in the online gaming industry and in particular poker is strongly recommended, but not necessary. The individual should have a credible university degree with a masters in business preferred. The individual should have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
