SAS Developer – Online Poker – Ireland
Job Description
Overall Purpose of Role:
Wanted: SAS Guru to help our client to get the most out of their SAS Enterprise Infrastructure. Have you experience in managing a SAS Enterprise solution and helping others get the best out of it. Have you experience of SAS Management Console, SAS Data Integration Studio and SAS’s reporting tools? Do you know SAS Code inside-out and back-to-front? If you answer yes to all of the above, then this position could be for you.
Core Job Responsibilities:
• Manage the day to day SAS Operational environments, Including monitoring, backups, patching, user management
• Diagnosis and treatment of faults
• Ensure that the environment continues to sustain high performance
• Help design and integrate new SAS based applications to support business needs
• Train and support other users in the use of the SAS Toolset
Skills Required:
• An exceptional knowledge of the Base SAS language: Data Step, Procedures, SQL and SAS Macros
• Know how to get the best from the SAS toolsets including DI Studio, Enterprise Guide, Enterprise Miner and Web Reports Studio
• Strong knowledge of Supporting a SAS Infrastructure on the Windows operating system
• Understand the security models (both for SAS and Active Directory) involved in administering the SAS installation
• Understand how to apply hot fixes, patches, service packs and do version upgrades
• Have good knowledge of relational databases preferably MS SQL Server
• Understand the backup and retention policy of the operating system and data and ensure that appropriate backups are operational
• Knowledge of Change Management procedures and version control of SAS code
• Have some experience in developing performance metrics and monitoring a SAS system environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• Superb interpersonal skills and comportment
• Strong oral communication skills and decorum
• Excellent time management and organisational skills a must
• Excellent written communication skills, including ability to compose clear, grammatically correct and polite prose, especially in the area of business and technical correspondence
• Experience in composing technical and instructional documentation
