PR and Events Coordinator – Online Poker – Portugal
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced public relations or marketing professional to assist in executing public relations campaigns and live events for the Portuguese market.
Summary of job role
The Public Relations & Events Coordinator will provide tactical implementation of local marketing strategy and operational support in the territory
Responsibilities Include – Event planning, organization & reporting
• Plan and execute events in market
• For each event, manage logistics, lead generation offline activities, print collateral, and onsite presence
• Manage player enquiries, participation and registration at events
• Manage all press enquiries for events, manage journalists attending events, manage local PR agency to achieve press coverage of events, approve press releases drafted by the agency (when appropriate)
• If market does not have a PR agency, manage press database, contact press for coverage of events, draft and/or translate press releases, organize press interviews
• Manage follow-up activities to live events to ensure branding, acquisition or retention goals are met
• Report back on results of events in a timely manor
• Identify opportunities to organize events in local market to attract new players or gain awareness
• Manage event budget
• Coordinate player enquiries before, during and after events with Customer Service Team
• Plan and coordinate operational tactics for events with Ops team
• Plan private tournaments, follow-ups and complete creative briefs for events if needed and coordinate approval by Country Manager
Represent the company within poker community and at large in market
• Serve as the company spokesperson for press interviews
• Keep abreast of all local and international industry conferences and events
• Attend key industry conferences (as requested by Country Manager), engagements, events and tournaments in country
• Staff local and international tournaments as requested by Manager or Events team
• Manage the PR agency to ensure the brand is supported in local press and accurately reflected
• Develop and maintain relationships with key members of the poker community– poker clubs, local gaming industry influencers, poker media, potential business partners
Public Relations activities
• Keep abreast of all competitor news as well as the company brand buzz on local forums, blogs and poker sites and report to country team
• Maintain communication with PR Manager to follow PR guidelines, for pan-European press release distribution and translation, and for other PR initiatives requested
• Support social media campaigns in market
• Manage localized strategy of sponsored player(s):
• Coordinate all initiatives and maintain a regular communication flow with Team Manager for all activities related to sponsored players
• Ensure branding is consistent
• Keep abreast of live tournament schedules
• Manage PR agency to ensure optimal press coverage of the player(s)
• Together with the Affiliate team, Country Manager and Team Manager, plan a strong online schedule for the player to reach NDP acquisition goals
• Monitor players’ social media activities (blog, Twitter, Facebook) according to contractual agreement
• Source speaking and PR opportunities for the player(s)
• Run regular reports on player’s performance
• Participate in contract negotiations & drafting
Support Market Strategy and team
• Support Country Manager in elaboration of market strategies
• Following analysis of events, make recommendations for future campaigns/initiatives
• Assist Country Manager with research campaigns (where appropriate)
• Provide translation support to translation team
• Ensure continued communication flow with Affiliate and Customer service teams
Requirements Include
• BA or equivalent and over 2 years of public relations, events, or marketing experience.
• Must be a native Portuguese (from Portugal) speaker and fluent in English
• Strong network of media or event contacts preferred
• Excellent written and verbal skills/media relations skills
• Superb organizational and time management skills
• Ability to travel throughout country of focus and Europe
• Candidate must be familiar with the online poker market or committed enough to make it their passion.
Salary
According to experience. Bonuses based upon initiative and merit.
