Digital Designer – Gibraltar

Job Purpose:
Support the Production Design Manager to deliver high quality, branded design for our company’s communications, products and related offline channels and mediums.

Key Responsibilities:
The tasks listed below are not exhaustive, but form the body of the role.

Conceptualise and develop visual solutions to meet supplied briefs, for various internal and externally linked departments.
i. Briefed requirements include marketing promotional campaigns, website expansion/refresh, functional enhancements, brand reinforcement and mini-sites for events/services.
ii. Online collateral requirements include site graphics, web pages, emails, animated gifs, Flash banners/applications including potential live feeds and software integration.
iii. Offline collateral requirements include leaflets, press/magazine advertising, hoardings etc.
Ensure work produced is consistent with the creative direction and brand guidelines set by the Creative Design Manager.
Follow studio processes throughout the course of each job, liaising with all teams as required.
Ensure work is produced to timescales and deadlines as provided by Production Design Manager.
Quality check all personal design and production output to ensure completed work is error-free, meets the brief, and achieves the desired design standards.
Build a rounded knowledge of our company’s products and brand to aid performance of role.
Share existing technical knowledge with team members, as well as learn new software as required.
Contribute to department and work related meeting as required to best perform role.
Ensure commercial focus and compliance of output at all times.
Represent our client to 3rd Parties where required.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
A sound understanding of general design principles, both on and off-line.
A strong and varied online portfolio displaying design processes and execution of concepts, and containing examples of web pages, Flash (banners etc), emails, and animated gifs.
Experience within a commercial web environment (in-house or agency).
Excellent demonstrable screen based design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash or related)

Desirable
Experience and skills in Dreamweaver, Javascript and Flash Actionscript.
Demonstrable web design skills (XHTML, CSS).
Experience of developing design concepts across different mediums and formats (eg. On-line sites, email, print and interactive DVDs).
An Art, Design or Media based Honours Degree, or similar experience.
Experience of end-to-end delivery cycle of websites.
Knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques.
Understanding/experience of different print techniques and mediums.
