Management Accountant – Gibraltar
The purpose of this key role is to ensure accurate management accounts are produced and information collated to allow the business to operate efficiently and at lowest cost.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Responsibility for monthly management reporting including cost centre management, expense and variance analysis and commentary.
• Responsible for annual cost budgets and quarterly forecasts, working with cost centre/product managers to prepare budgets and challenge assumptions
• Responsible for the accounting for and control of marketing expenses including affiliate and campaign expenses
• Ongoing development of product costing, ensuring that cost allocations are used to identify true product profitability
• Ensuring the accounting records properly accounts for payroll and other people related costs
• Liaison with WH plc to ensure that costs recharged are correct and are treated correctly and in compliance with all tax requirements
• Ensure the ongoing integrity of the company’s financial records and financial reporting with overall responsibility for accruals/prepayments/adjustment journals in relevant accounts.
• Preparation of relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
• Control of the payment of key contracts as required, ensuring amounts are properly paid.
• Support of the rest of the finance accounts function as required;
• Ad hoc projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• The jobholder should be a qualified accountant.
• They should have the knowledge and experience to prepare cost accounts, identify trends and challenge cost centre managers.
• Previous experience in a similar role in a commercial organisation would be advantageous.
• Good communication (verbal/written) and influencing skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior levels of management is essential as is a good working knowledge of excel, Microsoft office and computerised accounting packages such as JDE
OTHER INFORMATION
The job is office based in Gibraltar. Some travel may be required to UK, Israel, Bulgaria and Manila but this will be on an ad hoc basis rather than a regular requirement.
