Job Purpose
Reporting directly into the Director of TV, Digital and Media, the key objectives of this position are to maximize the effectiveness and quality of TV and digital programming. This is to be achieved through developing and modifying programming with production companies on a global basis (but likely to have particular emphasis on Latin America) and acquiring preferred production partners in conjunction with local marketing requirements.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for producing specific programmes including Regional Tours and AFPs from beginning to end including responsibility for ensuring timelines are met, quality is maintained and value for money is achieved. It is also expected that this role will help planning and development in terms of how TV programming needs to evolve in order to ensure we maintain our position at the forefront of poker programming.
The role will have no direct people management responsibilities but will work alongside 2 TV programming producers and be supported by a TV Co-ordinator.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervising and reviewing all aspects of production, budgets, contracts and negotiations with our production partners and producers across the world.
• Producing specific TV programming projects from beginning to end including tender projects, assessing budgets, through to supervising productions on set to managing talent and managing the post production process, through to programme delivery to our broadcasters. These will include both Regional Tours and AFP programmes.
• Liaising with marketing manager to understand the requirements of programming in local markets.
• Liaising with events, branding and PR teams on logistics and planning across the regional tours to ensure production is included in all areas of the business.
• Ensuring that our content is considered across multimedia platforms, from TV to web to mobile formats. Initializing interactive content where possible.
• Manage a variety of production companies with varying levels of experience and understanding of poker programming.
Skills and Capabilities
• Must demonstrate a track record of success in poker TV programming production for 3 years.
• Must have worked in TV industry (any aspect) for 5 plus years.
• Must have fluent English, Spanish and ideally also Portuguese.
• Experience producing or production managing sports outside broadcasts.
• Worked as a production manager or line producer, writing budgets and managing cost managers, reporting on forecasts, managing production staff, contracts etc.
• Ideally must have poker industry experience or have an understanding of poker, how the game is played and what poker programmes are currently being created in various international markets.
• Ideally has experience working with local marketing teams on a pan Regional basis.
• Experience working on multi platform productions and interactive content.
• Consider candidates from both an Agency and Client background.
• Experience within Latin America or North America would be helpful although candidates with experience in other markets will be considered.
• Must be willing to travel extensively.
• Requires a hands on individual who is extremely organized, has excellent management and communication skills as well as being a creative thinker.
• Capable of managing significant production budgets.
