Events Manager, Europe x 2 – Poker – UK

Key Responsibilities

The Events Manager, based in London will be responsible for managing live poker tournament events across Europe.

This role does not involve managing live gaming operations, but rather everything surrounding it at poker events, including: managing communications; ordering promotional merchandise; coordinating staff, player and equipment logistics; acting as primary hotel liaison; planning significant brand integration at events; developing catering and entertainment plans; party planning; helping players with numerous issues, problems and concerns; and generally being both proactive and reactive to ensure the success of all aspects of events and working with numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and successful production of the event.

Job Role
• This role includes negotiating contracts with venues, hotel accommodation, suppliers etc.
• Liaising with our client’s central website development team to ensure information on the relevant websites is always current, relevant and accurate.
• In order to undertake this role you will be required to undertake significant amounts of travelling, attend all of the events and in many cases carry out advance inspections of locations and venues to gain a better understanding of how each event is likely to evolve.
• The days at events can be very long and hectic, and sometimes stressful. A strong constitution and calm demeanour under pressure are required for this position.
• You will be responsible for event budgets.
• Conducting post-event reviews and debriefs, and then creating subsequent reports.

Skills and Capabilities
• Good verbal and written communications skills are essential.
• Must be a “people person” who is confident with an outgoing and friendly personality
• Excellent organizational skills, being detail-orientated and meticulous
• Have experience with complex budgets
• Good knowledge of MS Office products
• Used to working in a very busy environment
• Experience working with online and brick-and-mortar poker is preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge and experience with our client and “poker culture” is preferred.
• Second languages are nice to have.
• Self-starter, proven ability and desire to innovate, and strong analytical skills.
• Remuneration: According to experience + benefits and bonus.
