Eastern Europe Regional Manager – Online Poker – Mainland Europe
Job Description

Summary of job role
Provide strategic leadership for our client in Eastern Europe, including development and implementation of overall integrated market strategy for the region and delivery of financial targets given marketing budget
Responsibilities include
Strategic Planning
• Given our client’s strategy, define strategy and tactics to achieve new player and revenue goals in managed markets. Adapt global strategy to work in managed markets and develop new strategies to meet financial goals
• Collaborate with Product Management to define Global marketing promotions and product features
• Collaborate with un-managed Marketing channels — Affiliate Marketing and SEO — to co-create strategies to achieve managed markets’ financial goals
• Perform and provide ongoing analysis of overall country performance – short and long term – as well as campaigns and activities performed in the market
• Establish KPIs to measure marketing program success and report on results to senior management
• Manage marketing budget for managed markets, make recommendations for reallocation of budget between campaigns and activities where appropriate
• Liaise with Country Management peers to identify successful strategies in other markets that could work for managed markets as well as provide input to strategic planning of unmanaged markets
Marketing Execution
• Execute or manage team to execute marketing plans to achieve financial goals
• Develop KPIs and objectives for direct reports for their area of marketing, managing team to hit their metrics
• Collaborate across the organization to leverage expertise and help from other departments to fulfil managed markets’ strategies
Mass Media & Creative
• Manage and execute all media programs for managed market
• Select media planning and creative agencies to execute strategies
• Work with media agency to develop media buying strategy for managed countries, ensuring appropriate placement and value as well as proper execution
• Work with internal creative department or source external creative agency to adapt Global positioning and messages to managed markets and across marketing platforms
• Assess unsolicited proposals from media agencies, production companies, and media owners
• Conduct business development and negotiations with select media partners in the managed countries to gain brand exposure in programming
• • Conduct negotiations with relevant third parties to gain additional brand exposure and acquisition through sponsorships, cooperation’s, etc.
• Develop and foster professional relationships with media properties for additional opportunities with media owners
• Establish KPIs and report on campaign success to senior management
Public Relations
• Select public relations consultants or agencies to execute PR strategies
• Based on given PR KPIs, monitor agencies, report on PR metrics, and report on overall market PR achievements to senior management
Events
• Develop events strategy to support achievement of overall strategy and metrics
• Manage team to execute events and monitor success, reporting on results to senior management
• Collaborate with Global Events Team to assist with any Global Events that take place in managed markets
• Assist Global Events Team by providing staff or support for Global Events worldwide
Market Research & Business Development
• Monitor and report on gambling market developments in managed markets, including information about competitors, land-based gaming, and legal developments
• Serve as expert on managed markets, including collating relevant country research:
• Basic population demographics
• Cultural conventions
• Media consumption
• Gaming / gambling research
• Current player research
• Competitive environment
• Regulatory environment
• Where appropriate, work with Research Department or external agencies to launch research campaigns (surveys, focus groups) to ensure optimal knowledge of consumers and market
• Coordinate research efforts with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Management
• Hire, train & manage staff, including PR & Event Coordinators
• Set performance goals based on market objectives, regularly review and assess performance with team members
• Conduct yearly performance reviews
• Manage PRE coordinator(s) to execute operational tasks including event organization, on-site event presence, PR campaigns, networking & relationship-building within poker community, social media activities to support campaigns, management of our client’s team member(s), management of PR agency
Represent our client within poker community
• Serve as a spokesperson for press interviews, conferences and other speaking engagements
• Proactively source local speaking opportunities to promote our client’s expertise
• Seek relationships to develop business deals within or outside of the poker industry, with the aim of acquiring players and/or maximizing retention
• Manage team to develop and maintain relationships with key members of the poker community – poker clubs, local gaming industry influencers, poker media and potential business partners
• Keep abreast of all local and international industry conferences and events
• Attend key industry conferences, engagements, events and tournaments in country
• Develop relationships with poker industry experts, clubs and federations for co-marketing opportunities, development of events, recruitment of new players and to further promote the brand within the industry
Job Requirements
• 5+ years of consumer marketing experience in Poland, Hungary, or Russia.
• Previous P&L responsibility and demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategy to achieve financial results
• Strong analytical ability with evidence that candidate is experienced developing and reporting on KPIs as well as using them to make strategic decisions
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experienced in managing agencies (media, creative)
• Ideally, 2+ years experience managing and executing integrated campaigns across multiple media channels
• Expertise managing two or more of these media channels: public relations, traditional mass media, event marketing, online marketing, social marketing
• Previous experience managing 2 or more direct reports
• Strong network with media owners and journalists in managed markets a huge plus
• Strong network within the poker industry, including land based casinos, in managed markets preferred
• Strongly prefer passionate poker players that are active in the poker community in one of the managed countries. If candidate does not play poker, they must be willing to make poker their passion
• Candidates who have worked across more than one of the potential markets are preferred
• Experience working with Czech Republic, Slovakia, Baltic territories, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia is a plus
• Native speaker of Polish, Hungarian or Russian
• Business fluency in English required
• Candidates fluent in more than 2 languages desired
• Flexibility to travel
• Candidate will work from home office
