Head of Poker Product – Gibraltar

The role:
- As Head of Product, Poker you will formulate and deliver the medium and long term poker product vision in line with commercial strategy and objectives. This will include owning the product strategy, roadmap and user experience for poker across all brands on the client’s platform.
- Supervising a team of Product Managers, you will be responsible for collecting and generating new product ideas and introducing enhancements to the existing poker product, driving the development of the suite of poker products with the goal to enable commercial success as measured in revenue, EBITDA and market share.
As Head of Product, Poker, your main responsibilities will involve:
- As Head of Product Poker you will ensure the successful planning, scoping and implementation (together with technology) for the whole poker product area, both managing a team of Product Managers and owning projects yourself.
Product Planning
- Responsibility for the poker product strategy, ensuring it is line with company and business strategies.
- Contribution to the overall product management strategy
- Development and ownership of the poker product roadmap, including prioritization of projects and negotiating the launch timeframes with project management and development teams.
- Development, monitoring and improvement of poker-specific product KPIs, including creation of KPI frameworks for new products and guiding the team to work data-driven.
- Monitor product performance and quality, leading optimization or instant problem solving.
- Regularly conduct and publish market intelligence and competitive analysis, identifying areas of opportunity, change and improvement.
- Ensure that all poker product work is embedded in the overall gaming platform.
- Collection and generation of new product ideas, enhancements to existing products, collating requests from both internal and external requestors, as well as users and the poker community.
Team management:
- Management and supervision of Product Managers, which includes conducting specification reviews with requestor groups and development teams.
- Training and mentoring of team with regards to flawless specification writing, the creation of relevant user experiences and being main point of contact for the specifications during the software development and implementation phases.
- Sign off on all product specifications, reviewing product decisions and solutions made by your team.
- Resource planning, budgeting and providing excellent leadership for the team.
- Single escalation contact for own team and poker product related issues
- Deliver the post merger transition and integration within your area of responsibility as per agreed plan.
Other areas:
- Define and improve the process for poker product development, accompanying R&D, Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing for all poker and related platform products.
- Be an advocate for user experience and promoter of user experience-driven and player journey focused working throughout team and the whole company.
- Build successful relationships throughout the company across all functions and jurisdictions.
- Responsible for partner, software and game supplier relationships, including relationship management, software/product selection and integration management.
- Selection and guidance of other Product Managers to lead external relations with vendors required for product development.
As Head of Product, Poker, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Proven online product management experience within an online gaming environment, particularly within Poker. Knowledge in the following areas will be considered key to the role: poker, online poker, website and client navigation, bonus, promotions and loyalty programs, as well as player acquisition and retention features.
- Proven ability to create business cases, detailed functional specifications and wire frames, with an excellent track record of developing, launching, and marketing online products.
- A broad and comprehensive technical understanding is required as well as an in-depth understanding of processes, procedures and concepts as these will be defined at this level.
- Technical product management experience preferred
- An understanding of client, web technologies and other channels, player journey/user experience and web/software user interface development and an understanding of software development processes are essential.
- Experience in both waterfall and agile development methodologies such as scrum.
- Excellent communication, organisational, leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Data-driven and detail-orientated with strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
- Ability to present business and technical issues, ideas, and recommendations clearly in verbal, written and presentation formats.
- Proven ability to work effectively with international, cross-functional teams and to internalize new processes and developments in a highly dynamic industry.
- Bachelor’s or MBA degree
- Previous team management experience is preferred
