Job Purpose

The Poker Room Operations Analyst role supports the Poker Room Operations Manager in the day-to-day operations of the PokerStars site as it relates to customers in the UK and Ireland, with an emphasis on the Irish market. The role will work with the Poker Room Management team and various other departments in dealing with operational tasks specific to the UK and Ireland, including escalations from other departments; working on marketing and promotions; promoting live events, tournament schedules, etc.; analyzing trends, player needs and opportunities to help strengthen the company’s presence; all with the ultimate goal of improving market share and player satisfaction in these two key markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with management of PokerStars’ poker room operations in the UK and Ireland, working to increase market share in these countries, with an emphasis on the Irish market
  • Interacting with players in UK and Ireland in order to increase site profile and create customer loyalty
  • Creating online tournaments and games for these markets, and assisting with scripting and deployment as necessary
  • Creating and implementing improvements to poker room and player relations to increase satisfaction of players and bottom-line profitability
  • Working with Marketing team to effectively raise awareness and interest in PokerStars in the UK and Ireland, including at live events such as EPT and UKIPT
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of some promotions
  • Working with the EPT and UKIPT staff to help evolve these event(s) into some of the largest and best poker tournaments in the world, including travelling to events to interact with players
  • Being a champion of poker within the UK and Ireland
  • Working with UK and Ireland Team PokerStars Pro and Team Online as necessary to accomplish other goals
  • Providing excellent customer service to players

Skills and Capabilities

Essential

  • Extensive experience working in the UK and Ireland markets, particularly Ireland
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK and Ireland live and online poker community, particularly Ireland
  • Good knowledge of the poker industry worldwide
  • Good knowledge of the PokerStars game client
  • Good knowledge of poker rules, procedures, and best practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Information Technology skills, including good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel)
  • Willingness to work long and/or unusual hours when necessary

UK & Ireland Regional Marketing Director

Job Purpose

  • Full P&L responsibility for the region
